Project 2a Urban Landscape

Project 2a Urban Landscape (Individual)

The information gathered (Project 1a & 2a) this stage of design process requires me to intensify my knowledge of the landscape setting around the heritage site. Therefore the success of the project depends on how much information that I gathered. This stage of the project will helps me to create a 3D picture of the site physically and spiritually of the place.

This design approach aims as a design tool and developing instrument and its aim is to derive responses and to investigate the potential emergent location of my design proposal.

With the knowledge, I should produce an interpretation of the site analysis into a 3D model landscape of the site which represents my design concept. In this project, I only use 2 type of color which is white color and brown color. White color will represent the zone of Kota Lukut where there is the museum, housing area, commercial area and the forest. The brown color will represent the earth.

This urban landscape shows the pattern of the zoning of Kota Lukut in a cluster organization. Next, it indicates the site being surrounded in forest area, housing area and commercial area.  This situation is suitable for the visitor interpreting center when designing a floor plan which the space is being surrounded by the other spaces. The height of the zoning element shows the rhythm principle where the building of Kota Lukut is not fix in one standard height.

To relate to the project 1b, keywords applied from 1b are the Trust and Scarified. As on the 3d model, it shows that the zoning element is being break into part or separated by the circulation just like the project 1b which has the broken metal that symbolize the Raja Busu has lost trust by his worker and partner. The hierarchy part from the model is the museum site which located at the center. It shows scarified by the Raja Busu just like the hand mark of the project 1. From the model, it shows scarified in the sense of the area of museum site which is big which represent the king standing at the top of the hill as to protect himself and family from the enemy that come toward him which the enemy represent the zoning element.

Process of Making the 3d

STAGE 1

I was using the surface drainage pattern analysis to get the contour of the area.

STAGE 2

In this stage 2, I was using the site and zoning analysis and the height of building analysis to create the cluster form of the shape. The height of every shape is different which represent height of the building and only can being seen in the model as above picture.

FINAL OUTCOME

The final outcome is the combination of the contour of the site and the zoning pattern.

Project 2a Group Site Analysis

Project 2a Group Site Analysis In this semester, we are to form 3 groups into 3 zone to investigate and survey our site which is at KOTA LUKUT. I am doing the sensory part for Zone A with my member Cheah Cai Sing. We have divided our task into sense of smell, sense of sight, sense of texture and sense of sound.

Project 1b Art as Archaeology

Project 1b  Art as Archaeology TRUST AND SACRIFICE This project requires me to express my initial ideas in visual form. A sample of video  on The Way of the Shovel: Art as Archaeology, where artisans are inspired by archaeological  interest through their art. This give an ideas on what the project is about.    This project require an Al size canvas within the thickness of 5-cm thick. The display  will demonstrate the SUBSTANCE, MEDIUM on my thoughts based on the research in Project  lA. As this is a form of art, i am using aluminium foil to do the texture of a metal and two type of colour which is red and black. In this abstraction, i am showing the expressionism abstraction base on the story of Kota Lukut. This art express the story of Raja Busu when he is the king of Kota Lukut. Many thing that happen to him when he is the king. He run a tin ore business and employ many chinese worker as a tin miner. He actually...
