The Untold Story of Kota Lukut

Project 1a Research on Historical Background This project deals with an exploration of the historical research and contemporary art. lt aims to challenge my understanding of the local history and the practice of art and architecture.The historical setting selected is in Kota Lukut, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan once part of Selangor. Prior to visit the national heritage site, I and my group member: Brendan, Benson, Timothy and Sunny are to make a research about the historical background and produce a full report of the site.

Project 1b  Art as Archaeology TRUST AND SACRIFICE This project requires me to express my initial ideas in visual form. A sample of video  on The Way of the Shovel: Art as Archaeology, where artisans are inspired by archaeological  interest through their art. This give an ideas on what the project is about.    This project require an Al size canvas within the thickness of 5-cm thick. The display  will demonstrate the SUBSTANCE, MEDIUM on my thoughts based on the research in Project  lA. As this is a form of art, i am using aluminium foil to do the texture of a metal and two type of colour which is red and black. In this abstraction, i am showing the expressionism abstraction base on the story of Kota Lukut. This art express the story of Raja Busu when he is the king of Kota Lukut. My Experience In Kota Lukut

Project 2a Group Site Analysis In this semester, we are to form 3 groups into 3 zone to investigate and survey our site which is at KOTA LUKUT. I am doing the sensory part for Zone A with my member Cheah Cai Sing. We have divided our task into sense of smell, sense of sight, sense of texture and sense of sound. 

Project 2a Urban Landscape (Individual) The information gathered (Project 1a & 2a) this stage of design process requires me to intensify my knowledge of the landscape setting around the heritage site. Therefore the success of the project depends on how much information that I gathered. This stage of the project will helps me to create a 3D picture of the site physically and spiritually of the place.  This design approach aims as a design tool and developing instrument and its aim is to derive responses and to investigate the potential emergent location of my design proposal. With the knowl edge, I should produce an interpretation of the site analysis into a 3D model landscape of the site which represe nts my design concept. In this project, I only use 2 type of color which is white color and brown color. White color will represent the zone of Kota Lukut where there is the museum, housing area, commercial area and the forest. The brown color will represent the earth...

Project 2b  Visitor Interpretive Centre (Individual) The final project is an architectural response to design a Visitor's Interpretive Centre for Kota Lukut. This project requires me to emphases a strong engagement and relationship to the site surrounding with spatial experience and programmatic requirements. I need to demonstrate my understanding on how to keep the centre a sustainable through a demonstration of local culture and heritage, by promoting the locals as volunteers to the centre.
